What it does
RealUptime reads your Kuma instance's public status page every five minutes, the same two keyless requests a visitor's browser makes: the page's monitor list and its latest heartbeats. Each Kuma monitor becomes a component you can put on any of your RealUptime Status pages. A monitor Kuma reports up shows operational, down shows major outage, pending shows degraded and maintenance shows maintenance.
These rows are Kuma's reading, not ours, and the page says so: each one is labelled as reported by Uptime Kuma. If your Kuma instance stops answering for twenty minutes, its rows show unknown rather than their last state. A monitor with no heartbeat yet is not offered until Kuma has checked it.
Connect your Kuma status page
- In Uptime Kuma, publish a status page with the monitors you want to show, and check that it opens from outside your network, for example on your phone with Wi-Fi off. RealUptime cannot reach a Kuma instance that only answers on your LAN or behind a VPN.
- In RealUptime, open Status page in the dashboard and find Provider components. Under Uptime Kuma, paste the status page URL, which looks like
https://kuma.example.com/status/main, and press Connect. The monitors are read right away. - Pick monitors from the component list, under Uptime Kuma (your name), and add each to the page. Rename a row if your customers know it by another name.
Disconnecting a Kuma page removes its rows from every status page. You can connect up to ten Kuma status pages per account.
What your page adds
- Email subscribers who are told when you post an incident or schedule maintenance.
- Scheduled maintenance announced in advance, not only shown while it happens.
- Incident history with written updates, kept after the incident closes.
- A custom domain such as status.yourcompany.com, on paid plans.
You can also mix Kuma rows with RealUptime's own checks on the same page, so the services Kuma cannot see from inside your network are checked from outside it. See status page setup and subscribers.
Availability and pricing
Connecting Uptime Kuma is available on every plan, free included. A custom domain needs a paid plan. See pricing for what each plan includes.
